21.02.2011 Renewd Holmenkollen ready for winter sports enthusiasts

Holmenkollen ski jump ("Holmenkollbakken") has been totally re-built. The new Holmenkollen Ski Jump now has a k-point of 120 meters. The tower with a new tourist platform and start house represents the most modern design. Most of the structure consists of steel and concrete.  The new inrun is partially cladded and as the first ski jump in the world, Holmenkollen has a permanent windscreen solution woven from high quality steel. Two lifts bring the athletes up to the start house. One chair lift from the bottom of the ski jump and a cabin lift following the inrun up to the start house.

In addition to upgrading the Holmenkollen Ski Jump, a new normal hill (k-point 95) was built in Midstuen. The new Midtstuen ski jump was equipped with Lindgren's EVERSLIDE Plastic Matting system and a porcelain inrun track, which will ensure usage of the ski jump during the summer.

This year (2011) the Norwegians aim to build five smaller recruitment hills (from K5 up to K55) next to the larger hills. After a competitive bidding hadled officially in 2009, Lindgren was appointed to the supplier of Plastic Mattings for the recruitment hills.
